      Welcome to Day 2! Today, we will explore using images (AI or not) in a learning environment. While images are great for catching students' attention, they may be detrimental to learning if used improperly.

      CREATE AN INSTRUCTIVE IMAGE

      Considering how images may support learning by being 'instructive,' we are asking you to take on a fairly big challenge: generate an AI image that aligns with your learning outcomes.

      There are a few types of images that may be considered instructive. We have suggested some in the list below. Are there others?

      • Stimulating Interest

      • Memory Aid

      • Promoting Critical Thinking

      • Cultural Understanding

      • Digital Storytelling

      As noted in the article, the image below was an attempt to create an instructive image that may be useful as a memory aid. However, the AI failed to generate an accurate map of China. Fail!  Ultimately, the author resorted to a more simplistic "decorative" image in this example.
